One of the main reasons I wanted to go to Florida State University (13 years ago this month!) was so I could be close to my family in Thomasville, GA (it’s just 30 minutes north of Tallahassee). I’ve been coming here since before I was born and my love for this charming, quintessential Southern town grows more and more the older I get.
We love coming up here on Friday nights to grab a bite to eat at Sweet Grass Dairy (ask for DJ!), popping into some of my favorite boutiques, The Bookshelf, Firefly, Kevin’s, and Relish, and swinging by Grassroots Coffee for decaf iced coconut milk lattes and then meandering the historic cobblestone streets while the sun goes down.
See those plaques behind me on the building? They identify the original business that occupied the space + the year it was located there – lots from the 1800’s!
If you’ve never been to Thomasville you should definitely put it on your list of places to visit! For a place to stay, I would check out The Paxton. I haven’t stayed here yet, but it’s at the top of my list for a staycation!
PS – I have never received more compliments on a dress than this one from Gal Meets Glam. If you’re local, I’d love for you to join me for an exclusive Gal Meets Glam trunk show at Narcissus on August 21st. 🎀Here’s the link to RSVP: https://www.narcissusstyle.com/events
