Anyone else ready for spring? The last few weeks I’ve been ordering seeds, peony tubers and bare-root roses for my spring/summer garden and I’m a little giddy at the thought of sunny days and fresh flowers in the near future. While it might not be spring yet, that hasn’t kept me from dressing the part. I wore this floral-inspired outfit for Lively’s 2nd birthday last weekend and it was a fresh, colorful change from my typical winter wardrobe.
Last year I bought this tulip sleeve top in white and loved it so much I purchased the pink. It’s the best of both worlds – comfortable like a t-shirt, but dressy enough to wear to dinner or a party. I’ve worn it with jeans, dress pants and skirts, and always receive so many compliments. I also love that it provides the perfect blank slate for accessorizing. It runs TTS (maybe a tad small), but I’m wearing my normal size small and love the fit. It’s the perfect twist on a basic staple that works for so many occasions and seasons.
These pearl flower earrings from Vivian Drew‘s new Valentine’s Day collection were the perfect compliment to the tulip sleeve top. I love, love, love these earrings! The iridescent shine of the mother of pearl petals combined with the soft peach center make these feminine earrings as beautiful as springtime flowers. The size is just right – big enough to make a statement, but won’t overpower. Not to mention, I was able to wear these all day without any irritation which almost never happens when I wear anything besides my everyday pearls. If you’ve never perused Hayley’s website (Vivian & Drew are her two precious girls) you definitely should! You’ll find everything from fun statement earrings that can pull together a t-shirt and jeans, to elegant pieces for weddings and momentous occasions. I’ve got my eye on this pair and this pair, also from her new Valentine’s Day collection, and am a huge fan of her raffia and tassels as well. Not only does Hayley lovingly create each pair by hand, but she has the most beautiful heart for the Lord that shines so brightly!
